A personal opinion about medical issues

Sketching
Walk-in clinics that put a pharmacy *right in front of the entrance to the waiting room* make their operators' true priorities all too clear.

Discuss whether or not I'm right to believe this.

Convenience? Get a prescription, then get it filled as you depart?

If you have to walk through it on your way in as well as en route back to the street again...

Maybe so the pharmacist can stare at your butt twice as you walk by?

Use of existing building? Anything else sold in the 'pharmacy', such as magazines, candy?

They couldn't buy prescription medicine as they walk in, because they haven't got the prescription till they see the doctor. (Unless they have existing prescriptions to fill while they're waiting, in which case customer convenience again.) If they walk out with a prescription, they will get it filled somewehre, so why not conveniently?

Try being sick or crippled and having to go to two different locations to visit the doctor and then to get the prescription filled, and see if that clarifies the situation for you. Also your picking a random pharmacy across town risks it closing before you get there, or it not stocking the right medicine, etc etc. Saving this kind of hassle for even 1 of 100 patients is worth it.
